General Description:
This bill requires certain local education agency governing boards to establish written
policies regarding school bus inspections.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
Section 1. Section 
53G-7-220
 is enacted to read:
 53G-7-220.
School bus inspection policy.
An LEA governing board that provides transportation shall establish a written policy
that:
(1) requires a school bus driver to inspect the entire length of the interior of a school
bus at the end of every route; and
(2) requires disciplinary action pursuant to LEA policies and practices for failure to
perform the inspection described in Subsection (1).
