LONG TITLE
General Description:
This bill creates a study of certain medications used in transgender procedures for
minors.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
Section 1. Section 
26-1-41
 is enacted to read:
 26-1-41.
Grant program to study medications used in transgender procedures for
minors -- Report.
(1) Within legislative appropriations, the department shall issue a request for
applications for an individual to conduct the study described in Subsection (2).
(2) The recipient of a grant under this section shall:
(a) possess a doctoral degree in medicine, pharmacology, or a related field; and
(b) conduct a review of any available scientific research related to the administration of
a gonadotropin releasing hormone agent to a minor for the purpose of facilitating the minor's
desire to present or appear in a manner that is inconsistent with the minor's sex, and any side
effects of that use; and
(c) report the information described in Subsection (2)(b) to the department.
(3) The department shall report the information submitted to the department under
Subsection (2)(c) to the Health and Human Services Interim Committee on or before
November 30, 2020.
